Italian court rejects TIM's precautionary appeal in network tariff dispute A Milan court has rejected a request for precautionary measures filed by Telecom Italia (TIM) against KKR-backed FiberCop over new tariffs for access to Italy's main fixed-line telecoms network, grid owner FiberCop said. The dispute centres on the terms governing TIM's access to the fixed-line network it sold to a KKR-led consortium in 2024 under a restructuring aimed at cutting the former phone monopoly's debt. TIM had asked the court, under a fast-track procedure, to order FiberCop to notify telecoms regulator AGCOM of the economic conditions set out in a long-term service agreement governing TIM's access to the network assets.
Telecom Italia’s Board Backs Poste Italiane’s Nearly $15 Billion Bid Telecom Italia said its board of directors supported an offer from Poste Italiane the group’s biggest shareholder, to take full control through a bid valued at more than 13 billion euros ($14.87 billion) just ahead of its formal launch. The Italian telecommunications company, also known as TIM, said Saturday that its board viewed favorably the rationale and industrial prospects of the deal, and deemed the price to be fair. Italy’s state-controlled postal service Poste Italiane already owns about 20% of TIM and in March offered to buy the rest through a cash-and-stock bid valued at 10.83 billion euros at the time.
