Askari Metals executive director Gino D’Anna talked with Proactive about the company’s latest exploration work at its Uis project in Namibia, where seven new prospective pegmatite targets have been generated across two licences. The company is preparing for RC drilling next month, initially focused on four key targets, while rock mapping and sampling has already been undertaken on the newly generated prospects. D’Anna said these targets are expected to move through trenching before potentially joining the company’s drilling pipeline later this year. D’Anna described the project as polymetallic, with exposure to tin, lithium, tantalum, rubidium and cesium. He also highlighted the project’s location next to Andrada Mining, which operates the neighbouring Uis Tin Mine. “These seven targets, as I indicated, they tick the box of scale and potential for getting a very significant global resource,” he said. D’Anna said Namibia offered a stable operating environment, strong infrastructure and access to export markets through Walvis Bay. He added that Askari Metals’ proximity to an existing producer could support future development options.
