Analyst Rating Screener: Find Stocks Analysts Like in Europe

·2 min read·Nico Mena

Screen for stocks with strong analyst ratings and enough coverage across European, US and Canadian markets, and learn what consensus can and cannot tell you.

To find stocks analysts like, filter for an average analyst rating of 2 or lower and at least five analysts covering the stock. The coverage filter matters as much as the rating: a "Strong Buy" from one analyst is an opinion, from fifteen it is a consensus.

Last updated: October 2026.

The three analyst fields

  • Analyst Rating: the average recommendation. 1 is Strong Buy, 3 is Hold, 5 is Sell. Lower is more bullish.
  • Price Target: the average analyst target price.
  • Analyst Count: how many analysts provide ratings. Higher means more coverage.

The screen, step by step

  1. Select your exchanges.
  2. Set Analyst Rating to a maximum of 2.
  3. Set Analyst Count to a minimum of 5.
  4. Set a minimum market cap of 500 million euros, since coverage thins quickly below it.
  5. Add one valuation or quality filter so you are not buying consensus alone.

The opposite use: stocks nobody covers

Set Analyst Count to a maximum of 2. These are stocks with little or no coverage, mostly small and micro caps. Research on under-followed stocks suggests they can be mispriced more often because fewer people look at them. They are also riskier and less liquid. Combine with strong fundamentals. What consensus can and cannot tell you

Useful for Not useful for
A quick sense of sentiment Timing a purchase
Finding well-followed quality stocks Finding hidden bargains (everyone already sees them)
Spotting under-covered stocks Judging a company on its own

Analyst ratings skew positive across the industry, so a rating of 2.0 is common. Treat a rating of 1.5 or lower as the stronger signal.

Frequently asked questions

What does an analyst rating of 2 mean?

On the 1 to 5 scale, 2 sits between Strong Buy and Hold, which means a Buy on average.

Are analyst price targets reliable?

They are useful for direction but often chase price. Use them as context, not as a forecast.

Why filter by analyst count?

Averages from one or two analysts are noisy. Five or more gives a steadier consensus.
